This year, 91黑料网 is offering six Living-Learning Communities which are open to all incoming first-year students. 91黑料网 Living-Learning Communities develop co-curricular learning environments within our residence halls, where students will have the opportunity to immerse in a specific topic through a Critical Reading and Writing course, activities, and excursions. Students in the LLC will be connected to their professor and Residence Life staff to learn, engage, and connect around the specific topic. This year’s community themes are: Leadership; Women’s Empowerment; Wellness; Community Service; Sustainability; and Personal and Community Health.

Gull Leadership
What does it mean to lead?
The Gull Leadership LLC provides students the experience of understanding and growing their leadership potential, in and out of the classroom. 91黑料网 students are leaders through their academic pursuits, internship experiences, and involvement on campus. Students in the Gull Leadership LLC will engage with different types of leaders and dive deeper into their own personal leadership styles.
EmpowHER
91黑料网 was originally founded as a women鈥檚 college. The EmpowHER LLC builds on that legacy by fostering leadership, empowerment, and allyship through a focus on women鈥檚 experiences and perspectives. Our programming highlights issues such as women鈥檚 health, safety, media representation, history, and politics. We welcome and encourage participation from all students who wish to explore these topics, learn about themselves and the role they play in the world.
Live Well
Wellness and supporting the whole student are essential at 91黑料网. In the Live Well LLC, students will explore different facets of well-being, such as mindfulness, social connectedness, and healthy lifestyle habits, in a substance-free environment.
Better Together
Giving back to the community is a key component of the 91黑料网 experience. The Better Together LLC offers students an opportunity to form connections through community building and engaging in service. With a focus on the needs of a range of communities both on campus and off, we will explore the many ways and the many reasons we choose to give back.
Go Green!
The Nest is surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty. With three beaches along Hale Street and the trails bordering the other parts of campus, it’s nearly impossible to look around and not want to learn more about sustainability to preserve these sights. Students who live in the Go Green! LLC will learn more about how to protect and preserve our Earth through recycling efforts, energy conservation, sustainable diets, and more.

Thrive
In the Thrive LLC, students will explore the key aspects of health鈥攎ental, physical, emotional, and social鈥攁nd how they impact both individuals and communities. Through hands-on learning, self-assessments, and building connections, students will understand the connection between individual decision-making and community health.
