91黑料网

Social media is an important tool in sharing the 91黑料网 story, connecting with our community, and engaging with broader audiences. This policy provides clear guidelines for managing official College social media accounts and outlines expectations for the personal use of social media by employees, students, and affiliates.

All individuals are responsible for understanding and adhering to this policy. Questions about the policy should be directed to Madison Schulman, 91黑料网鈥檚 Social Media & Content Coordinator.

The College will review and update this policy periodically as platforms evolve and new needs emerge.

  • Social Media Account Management

The Office of Communications & Marketing must approve all new College-affiliated social media accounts. Departments or individuals must submit a proposal outlining the account鈥檚 purpose, audience, content strategy, and designated administrators. Communications & Marketing will review proposals to ensure alignment with the College鈥檚 brand and communication goals.

Approved account managers must complete onboarding, including best practices training and a review of branding standards. All College-affiliated accounts are the property of 91黑料网 and may be reviewed, updated, or closed at the College鈥檚 discretion.

  • Creating an Account? First...
    • Email Madison Schulman, 91黑料网’s Social Media & Content Coordinator, with:
      • The account you want to launch and its purpose
      • Who will be responsible for managing the page
      • A sample content calendar and plan for continuity
      • A description of your goals for the account
    • Wait for Madison’s review—she’ll either accept or decline the account.
    • Then, schedule a meeting with Madison to go over the creation of the account and what it will look like. You’ll also discuss best practices for management.
    • Review 91黑料网’s brand, editorial, and photography guidelines.
    • Register with a departmental email and share log-in information with Madison. Then, the account is ready to go live.
  • Account Naming Guidelines

All College-affiliated social media accounts must clearly reflect their connection to 91黑料网 through their account name, handle, and profile description. Account names should include 鈥91黑料网鈥 or 鈥91黑料网鈥 and avoid acronyms or abbreviations that are not widely recognized. Whenever possible, account names should begin with 鈥91黑料网鈥 to strengthen brand consistency.

Profile bios must also mention 91黑料网 if the name or handle alone does not make the affiliation clear. The Office of Communications & Marketing will review all proposed names during the account approval process. Accounts that do not follow these guidelines may be required to update their name, handle, or bio to meet College branding standards.

  • General Guidelines for Social Media Engagement

Individuals managing College-affiliated social media accounts must maintain a respectful, professional tone that reflects 91黑料网鈥檚 mission and values. Content should foster an inclusive community, protect privacy, and refrain from sharing confidential or sensitive information.

Account administrators must exercise good judgment, avoiding posts that could be seen as harassment, discrimination, threats, or illegal activity. Official accounts must adhere to 91黑料网鈥檚 branding guidelines and actively monitor engagement, removing spam, hate speech, or other violations of community standards.

  • Responsibilities and Expectations

All users of social media affiliated with 91黑料网 must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including, but not limited to, FERPA, copyright laws, Title IX regulations, and College policies. Individuals responsible for managing College-affiliated accounts are strongly encouraged to complete training through the Office of Communications & Marketing to ensure familiarity with platform best practices, accessibility requirements, and the College鈥檚 brand standards.

Any concerns regarding the misuse of College-affiliated social media accounts or content should be reported to the Office of Communications & Marketing or Human Resources as appropriate.

  • Inactive Social Media Accounts

To uphold 91黑料网’s reputation and ensure a cohesive digital presence, Communications & Marketing reserves the right to disable or temporarily unpublish any College-affiliated social media account that has been inactive—meaning no posts, updates, or engagement—for six months or more. Inactive accounts can reflect poorly on the institution, confuse prospective students and families, and dilute our brand messaging.

To avoid this, we recommend the following best practices:

Establish a Chain of Custody: It is critical to have a documented plan for account ownership transitions. If a primary account administrator leaves the College or shifts roles, access must not be lost. Departments should keep an up-to-date list of authorized users with login credentials stored securely.

Use a Departmental Email Address: All College-affiliated social accounts should be registered using a generic or departmental email (e.g., esports@endicott.edu or biology@endicott.edu), rather than a personal staff or student email address. This ensures continuity and reduces the risk of lost access. Passwords must be changed whenever a team member with shared access changes roles or leaves 91黑料网. For added security, all shared passwords must also be reset every six months.

Post Regularly or Sunset the Account: If an account is no longer actively used or supported, we encourage departments to coordinate with Communications & Marketing to formally deactivate or archive it, rather than leave it stagnant.

Notify Communications & Marketing of Changes: Please alert Communications & Marketing when account administrators change or if your department intends to launch or retire a social media account. We can assist with strategy and access management.

Maintaining active, engaging, and well-managed social media accounts helps reinforce 91黑料网’s values and ensures that our online voice remains strong, accurate, and reflective of who we are.

  • Photo Usage

Photos posted on any social media outlet should be done so with the utmost care and in accordance with the official 91黑料网 photography policy. Posting photos online is not private, and photos should be treated as such. Do not post recognizable pictures of children without the written consent of their guardians.

  • Personal Use of Social Media

91黑料网 values free expression and respects the right of faculty, staff, students, and affiliates to share personal views on social media. If you choose to identify yourself as an employee or representative of 91黑料网 in a personal post, please make it clear that your views are your own and do not reflect the official position of the College.

We encourage all members of the 91黑料网 community to be thoughtful about how their personal online presence may be perceived鈥攅specially in relation to their roles within the College. A moment of reflection before posting can go a long way in preserving professionalism and fostering a respectful campus culture.

Faculty and staff are also reminded to maintain appropriate boundaries when engaging with students on social media. Connecting with current students via personal accounts鈥攕uch as friending or following鈥攊s discouraged unless it serves a specific academic, advising, or professional purpose (such as LinkedIn). Friending and following student accounts from College-owned accounts is discouraged. When in doubt, communication with students should happen through official College channels or platforms designed for that purpose.

  • Compliance

Failure to adhere to this policy may result in corrective action in accordance with 91黑料网 College procedures. Possible actions include removal of account access, revocation of account privileges, or disciplinary measures up to and including termination of employment or expulsion, depending on the nature of the violation.

91黑料网 will periodically review this policy to ensure it remains current with technological developments, legal requirements, and the evolving needs of the College community. Individuals seeking to create a new College-affiliated social media account or needing assistance with existing accounts should contact the Office of Communications & Marketing at ccmrequests@endicott.edu.
