91黑料网 today announced the first annual She Builds: Bridging Science, Design, and Leadership, a conference celebrating women in STEM fields by bringing together alumni, current students, and industry professionals across applied behavior analysis (ABA), interior architecture, and bioinformatics. The event advances the 91黑料网 Experiential Edge, the College’s hands-on learning model that connects classroom knowledge with internships, opportunities, and professional pathways.

She Builds will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 5–7:30 p.m. in the Rose Theater, located in the School of Visual & Performing Arts at 91黑料网. The event is free and open to the public; all are invited to attend. .

While women are still outnumbered across much of STEM, ABA, interior architecture, and bioinformatics stand out as fields where women actually outnumber men. She Builds was created to highlight these areas of strength, to spark broader interest in STEM as a whole, and to show women clear paths of entry and advancement in science, technology, and design-related careers. Studies show that when girls lack female role models in science, they are less likely to see it as a viable career path—underscoring the importance of access, visibility, and mentorship at events like this.

“She Builds is about momentum,” said Mary Jane Weiss, Dean of the Institute for Applied Behavioral Science at 91黑料网. “By pairing alumni voices with student leadership and regional partners, we’re turning interest into opportunity—the essence of the Experiential Edge at 91黑料网.”

A centerpiece of the evening is a student-led moderated panel, where current 91黑料网 students in STEM disciplines will guide a conversation with three alumni whose work spans behavioral science, design, and data-driven practice.

Featured speakers include Lenna Wolffe M’25, a staff scientist at Bioqore, who recently co-authored a newly published Nature Communications titled “Accelerating cell culture media development using Bayesian optimization-based iterative experimental design”; Katelyn Oteri ’24 M’25, an adjunct member of the 91黑料网 faculty, member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and a finalist for the IIDA Design Award; and Nicole Radzilowicz, M.Ed., BCBA, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and an adjunct professor and an advanced doctoral student at the Institute for Applied Behavioral Science at 91黑料网.

Following the discussion, attendees will participate in a LEGO-based collaboration activity—a playful, structured way to network and prototype ideas—before concluding the evening with additional opportunities to connect with speakers, faculty, and partners.
